ABOUT Graybeard:

I am 56 years old (as of March ’01) and retired from federal civil service at the age of 50 to pursue those things that interest me the most, ie., hunting, shooting, fishing, enjoying the beautiful outdoors that our lord Jesus Christ has so graciously provided us. I am married to the former Sandra Faye Fields, my wife of 36 years. We have three sons: Bob, age 35, Matt, age 29, and Phil, age 27. We live in northeast Alabama on 5-½ acres where we raise blueberries to supplement my retirement income and have many varieties of fruit/nut/berry trees for our own consumption and eventual commercial production.

Most of my hunting time is devoted to the pursuit of whitetail deer and squirrels in the mountains surrounding our area. My primary weapons of choice are my handguns. Those I use most often for whitetail and other big game are: TC Contender 7 X 30 Waters with 14" barrel and a Bushnell Trophy 2x6 scope, S & W Model 629 Classic DX with 8 3/8" barrel and Bushnell Trophy 2 x 6 scope and my S & W 657 with 6" barrel and the factory iron sights. For squirrels I use my S & W Model 17 with 8-3/8" barrel and either the factory iron sights or sometimes I scope it when I am really serious about putting meat in the pot.

I am a life member of the National Rifle Association and the North American Hunting Club and a member of Handgun Hunters International, Varmint Hunter’s Association and the Alabama Gun Collectors Association. All members of my household are long time members of the NRA.

When not hunting-shooting-fishing-or otherwise out enjoying the outdoors I can often be found on the computer at one of my favorite talk forums sharing information and chat with others who are like minded.

We have been operating these forums now for over 4 years and have never had the misconduct that is found on the other websites. We like to think that our visitor base is the cream of the crop.
