What can I say.......on this day....nothing went wrong for this young man. At 7:05 AM this same day after being in his stand only 5 minutes, he killed his first deer. An 85 lb. doe with a 20 ga. using #2 buckshot. After cleaing up, and eating a bite.....we loaded up the dogs for a hog hunt. This was Danny's second hunt for hogs. The first time, he killed a small boar and a nice sow.....but after a full day's hunt, we never bayed up a good boar. On this day, the first two groups of hogs were all sows. The third time the dogs bayed one up we walked into the head to be greeted by this bad boy. Danny got into position for a shot....about 15 yards. He waited for the right moment and let it rip....hitting the hog too far back. He quickly got another arrow....waited for the angle....and put it where it needed to be. It was a great hog because it was a bar as well (meaning it had been cut earlier in life). So....in addition to a fine trophy.....he was also fine eating.
