My dad and I went hunting on public land last sunday. The spot we hunt
is right next to a hunt club where the guys run a pack of walkers. We
hadn't even sat down for 5 minutes yet when 5 deer ran by. My dad shot
first, at a button buck with the 12 ga. 3 1/2" 00. He shot twice and
didn't drop it (I'm not impressed with buckshot's killing power). Although
the deer definitely wasn't happy, he could've got pretty far. Before the
deer had a chance to run, I took a rest against a tree and fired right
into it's vitals at 30 yards. He did not pass go OR collect two hundred
dollars. When I walked up to finish it off, I was shaking so much I
missed the head shot at three feet! I was shooting a 158 gr. Speer Gold
Dot JHP and it penetrated clean through.
