My first introduction to Starline brass was a few .357 Mag. and .44 Mag. cases picked up here and there. I tossed them into the mix of cases I was loading and was favorably impressed with them but the sample size was small. Then when I picked up a .41 Magnum revolver I decided to give Starline a real try and ordered a box of 250 Starline cases from them. The order was shipped promptly and the shipping charges was included in the price listed on their website. This was the only brass I used for all the work I did with that .41 mag. revovler and another I later got also. Not sure just how many times any of that brass was used but during the time I kept those guns that is the only brass used and I was very pleased with it. It was very uniform and the loads put together in their cases shot some excellent groups. What more can you ask for? My next introduction to Starline brass was when I took on the challenge of testing the Freedom Arms FA83 Premier and Taurus Raging Bull both in .454 Casull. I called up Starline and explained what I had under way and they graciously provided me with 500 cases of .454 Casull for the project. I noticed that the smaller companies like COR-BON and Buffalo Bore also used Starline brass to put up their ammo in. That alone is a pretty good indication of the quanlity and economy of using Starline brass. Folks who make their living putting out high performance ammo aren't going to chose anything that hasn't been proved to be really good quality and they also need a good price to allow for more profit on the ammo they make and sell. During the entire testing of the FA83 and also that of the Raging Bull the Starline brass is what was used in putting together all the reloads I fired and I fired many thousands of rounds of both factory and reloads during those tests and am still doing so for the RB in the scoped portion of this test that is still under way. I like them. The .454 Casull cases came with a note that they should be full length sized before use the first time. I did this and every single load I've put together using them has been fine. They all fit just fine in the chambers of both guns and have provided some excellent accuracy in loads each gun likes. The cases are holding up as well as or better than any other brand of brass I've ever used and the prices are less than any other brand from any source I've so far located. When you combine the quality and price I find Starline to be hard to impossible to beat and hard to match. I'll sure be using them for future projects also. If you are in need of any of the normal handgun calibers Starline has you covered in spades and for some they are about the only source of brass. They have now branched out and are beginning to make some of the more or less straight walled rifle cases like the .45-70, .45-90 and .45-110. I'm sure they will continue to expand as time goes on. If you haven't yet tried Starline brass I suggest you give them a call and do so. You won't regret it. Next I contacted Starline when it was time to begin testing the Browning BPCR in .45-70 and they send me 250 of their .45-70 cases for this project. Those along with the Starline made cases used by Buffalo Bore were used throughtout the testing of that rifle. When Taurus International sent me a Taurus Raging Bull in .480 Ruger caliber I again contacted Starline as the only source other than the Hornady Factory ammo at the time. Starline sent me 100 of the pre production cases to test before they went into full production. I gave these 100 cases a full work out in the test of the Taurus RB .480 and reported back to Starline that they again have a winner in this case and that full production was certainly in order. Buffalo Bore is now using the Starline cases for their factory .480 ammo which I am have also tested. Starline Brass definitely gets the Graybeard Seal of Approval for excellence and a thumbs up.
