Here's a couple of mine..

This one has a 280 extractor barrel on it..and a 25-06 extractor barrel fitted..The 280 barrel now belongs to nomosendaro..and this frame and the 25-06 barrel is being converted to a 26" 270 Winchester by Wayne York..

A 243 Ultra Varmint in a set of Gun Stocks Inc, stocks I finished..mitchell is the proud owner of this barrel now..

A 30-06 Ultra-comp..Quick has this one too.. Smiley

Another 25-06 Ultra..

This was a 270 Ultra-comp I had..It's now in Quicks collection..

My custom 338-06 A-Square

Let's see...here's a 45-70 Limited I had..I parted the barrel & stocks out on this one..

Here's the 45-70 Limited before I parted it out in a set of green laminants.

Here's a restocked 308 Survivor I had..my neighbor got this one and is lovin it..

My latest birthday present...A new 2004 25-06 Ultra...with a new 2007 VX-II 6x18 LRDV reticule

Anyway..that a few...past and present that has graced my safe.. and as you can see..I do a-lot of swapping and selling and I've gone thru a bunch of them..from the 26" RMEF Whelens..to 5 different Ultra Comps....270's & 30-06's...5 different 25-06 Ultra's and most regular type Ultra's as well.,....I've sold a bunch of them that's for sure...Hopefully..by the end of next year..all my Handi's will be custom barrels or calibers...I'm having a blast doing it this way..

Yes, the third one is, Josh! H&R made em as a special edition or some such at one time, I got that set off ebay for $81, IIRC. Wink

Thanks for the pics. Wow, some of you have alot of Handis. Right now I only have the one, but when I get back from Iraq I'd like to get an Ultra and a couple of bbls. What kind of recoil would the 500 S&W have? If anyone else would like to show theirs keep'em comin.

158 Topper 30/30 Mannlicher

Ignore
« Reply #8 on: September 04, 2006, 07:32:03 PM »

Here are som pics of my own humble collection:

top - H&R factory 357 Max w/Ultra barrel, laminated straight stock. I added a Williams WGRS peep sight (note that the factory sight is still on the barrel)
below - H&R Topper frame with 357 mag barrel, mannlicher forend, and peep sight.

Pic of 357 Max receiver and barrel markings

[

Then there's this H&R Topper Model 158 in 30/30 as it came from the factory (in about 1972). Haven't shot it yet, and plan to put a peep sight on it as well.

I have two .22LR Sportsters for the kids. This one has the adult stock and no iron sights, the other one has a youth stock and iron sights. Both are currently scoped.

Below: the "No Longer With Me File"

This is an older Versa Pack with .410 barrel above, and .22LR on the gun. I got for my son a couple of years ago, but he didn't much like it so I sold it and got him one of the Sportsters mentioned above. Every time I look at the pics of this one, I go through the "I shoulda kept it." routine - oh well!

These are a couple of Ultras, top - with grey laminate in .223 HB, lower - in cinnamon lam with special editon medallion .308 Win.

Sold both of those, but kept the grey laminate stock and one of the SB2 receivers...probably get another .308 Ultra barrel to go with, then another .223... then maybe a 45-70 ... and .... well you know where this is going... I am a Handi-holic, so there will definitely be more.

Cheers

dhnut1973,
I want to say what Quick said about the appreciation for your service.  I've worn the uniform of the U.S. Army but that was back in the late 1970's.  Graybeard isn't the only one with a gray beard!!!  Anytime I see anyone in uniform, I let them know I appreciate what they're doing for the rest of us.  Godspeed.

I don't have a Handi at the moment, I'm sorry to say.  I've had a couple of back surgeries and because of that, I've looked for the Comp models but I never can seem to find any for sale on the Internet auction sites.  I have looked on this forum, too, but haven't seen any there, either.  I'd really like one in .30/06 but if I can't find one, I'll just have to have one fitted with a brake I guess.  I really like the .308 Survivors, too, but I believe I'd change the stock and forend.  I guess what I'm trying to say is that I like the bull barrel on them.

Some of my favorites:

Ultra 25-06. Most accurate H&R I have owned. Has taken most of my "Handi" game.

NEF SB2 30-30 Winchester, cut to 18 inches. "Handiest" truck gun I owned. By always being there when Ineed her, she has taken a mess of game too.

H&R Model 155 45-70, cut to 20 inches. (You can tell I like short "carbines" with straight stocks.)

Ironglow, the camo lams are available from H&R, the info is in the FAQ and Help sticky under the 2005 Retail Parts Price list.

The photo is of more than the handi I have been shooting lately, my two other favorite firearms are in the picture. The handi is a .223 Ultra with my BC stocks on it, I like the looks of it. The other two are a 45/70 rolling block that I shoot BPCR with, and my .41 mag that I handgun hunt with.

my handi is on top (of course);  the one on bottom is a crosman 2240 .22 cal air pistol that i modified (heavily) into a darn cool rifle.  haha, if the "laminate" stock looks kinda plain it's because i made it by hand.  anyway, i've since replaced that ugly green foam on my handi with a more permanent cheek rest that looks much better.   Grin
